Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro Quick Review

Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro Quick Review

Samsung's newest Galaxy Grand Quattro delivers a winning mobile featuring powerful performance, smart multi-tasking and enhanced usability! Make no comprise with your mobile experience. With the 1.2Hz Quad-Core CPU, enhanced multi-tasking abilities, motion commands, Dual SIM and more, this mobile offers mobility at the top of its class. Samsung's smartpones have just gotten a whole lot smarter!

Samsung has dropped the price of its mid-range quad-core smartphone, the Galaxy Grand Quattro and it’s now available on the company’s e-store for Rs 16,900. At online retailer Flipkart, the Quattro is listed for Rs 16,570, while Saholic has it priced at Rs 16,499. The launch price of the smartphone was Rs 17,290.

The dual-SIM capable Galaxy Grand Quattro smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8625Q Snapdragon 200 1.2GHz quad-core processor and runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The Adreno 203 GPU, while not stellar, should provide more than enough oomph for most games and the 1GB of RAM should come in handy for extra processing power. The camera is nothing to write home about, but the 5-megapixel snapper is still good enough for basic photography and Instagram pictures. The VGA front camera is a disappointing specification.

The low-res display and the low-powered CPU mean that the 2000 mAh battery should ideally last the whole day on moderate-to-heavy usage. We would have liked to see a higher capacity battery, but for the price it’s quite capacious.

Powerful Performance

○11.9cms Large display is a great showcase, especially for photos and movies

○1.2GHz Quad-Core CPU offers advanced computing power to handle all your applications, multitasking and more

Enhanced photo-taking on the 5MP Camera

Enjoy features such as Continuous Shot, Best Photo, Colour Effect and Scene Mode for enhanced photo-taking on the 5MP Camera

Easy Mode

Easy Mode helps you access key functions such as favourite contacts, apps, dialer, etc on the homescreen with ease.

Here's a quick look at the specs of the Galaxy Grand Quattro:

► 4.7-inch TFT display with WVGA resolution
    ► Dual-SIM, 3G, GPRS/EDGE

Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot

Bluetooth 3.0

GPS with A-GPS support

5-megapixel primary camera with LED flash and VGA front camera

8GB internal memory + microSD support for up to 32GB more memory

Most of webmasters, publishers and bloggers used PayPal for sending and receiving money globally over Internet. But there is a limit for sending and receiving money until you will not confirmed your PayPal Account. The most common method to verify your PayPal account is just attaching your Credit card to PayPal. But in India Most of Bloggers and Publisher don’t own a credit card. But they can also verify their PayPal Account. You can verify your PayPal Account with any International Bank of India like State Bank Of India, Union Bank Or India, Punjab National Bank, ICICI, HDFC, Citi Bank, Bank Of Baroda, Central Bank Of India, Axis Bank etc... This is very simple process and takes 4 to 7 days to complete.

9,Once you successfully add your account, you can verify it.
    10,Click on the Verify link.
11,And wait for 4 to 7 days, PayPal will add two small amounts on your SBI Account. (it will be very small amount like Rs. 1.02 or Rs. 1.03 etc..)
12,Now verify your PayPal account by adding these two amounts on PayPal.
13,After you will add both the amount your account status will become verified.

Best Books To Learn Android Application Development

Best Books To Learn Android Application Development

Setting Up WordPress For The First Time

Setting Up WordPress For The First Time

With the WordPress finally installed, there are just a couple of things left to tweak to ensure its maximum performance. To start with, log in to your WP dashboard.

On the left hand side, click on a column entitled »Settings«:

1) The »General Settings« window should now be opened:

Here you can enter your site’s title and tagline, modify your access URL, insert your e-mail address and change the date settings.

The Site Title and Tagline is what the WordPress shows as the header of your homepage (depending on the theme you’re using), so make sure it is short but descriptive.

For example:

Site Title: Mark’s dating advice

Tagline: Learn how to become successful at dating!

If you want your website to have a (www.) prefix, then you can change that in the WordPress Address and Site Address fields. Just add (www.) before your URL.

Once you’re done, don’t forget to hit the »Save Changes« button!

2) Now click on »Reading« to open up the »Reading Settings«:
By default, WP will have »Your latest posts« checked, which is fine if you’re running a simple blog, but if you want to build a real website, you should select »A static page«, and from the drop down menu of Front Page, choose »Sample Page«.

The sample page is just a page that was automatically generated with your WordPress installation, and you can edit it and change its name to »Home« later on if you wish.

Don’t forget to save changes before moving on to the next step!

3) Open up »Discussion Settings«:

Since WordPress is primarily a blogging platform, comments are an inherent part of it. You can either choose to enable or disable comments on your website and modify their settings.

If you do not want people to comment on your website, uncheck the box that says:

»Allow people to post comment on new articles«

Other options are pretty much self-explanatory, so we’re not going to get into that in details right now, but if you wish, you can play with them more later on.

4) Click on »Privacy Settings«:
Here you can choose whether you want search engines (like Google, Yahoo and Bing!) to index your website (so others can find it) or not.

In my opinion, it is always better to leave this as it is, unless you really do not want to get traffic from Google (for some weird reason). However, even if that is the case, note that it is up to the search engines themselves to honor your request – so there are no guarantees.

5) Finally, open up »Permalinks Settings«:
This is where you decide how your URL looks like when opening a new page or post on your website. Since the default option looks really ugly, I’m going to show you a nice little trick which makes it look much better:

- Select »Custom Structure« and enter: /%postame%/

Now, when accessing a new page on your website, instead of having a URL that looks like this: www.youriste.com/?p=123, it will look like this: www.yoursite.com/new-page

Much better, agreed? Don’t forget to save your changes!

Widgets – What Are They And How To Use Them?
Widgets are one of the best features of WordPress in my opinion (along with plugins). There are literally a thousand ways you can use them + they give your site a fresh & unique look.
So what are they?

They are individual programmable parts of your website. Now before you go all »This is way too complicated for me…«, let me tell you that it’s much more simple that it sounds!

On this image, you can see that the basic WP template comes with 5 default widgets installed automatically: »Recent Posts«, »Recent comments«, »Archives«, »Categories« and »Meta«, and all of them are embedded in the right sidebar of your website theme.

You can substitute these with different widgets, like images, videos, graphs or whatever your current WP theme supports. To do this, click on the »Appearance« tab and select Widgets:

Notice that there are over 10 default widgets available at your disposal. You can have as many of them as you like, and some themes even come with their own pre-programmed widgets.

On your right hand, you can select where you want to put your widgets (main sidebar, showcase sidebar, footer, etc.)

To install them, simply use the drag & drop technique. For example, if you wanted to add the »Calendar« widget, you would click on it in the »Available Widgets« area and drag it all the way to your »Main Sidebar«.

Then, you can set it up and configure as you like and it will be shown across all pages on your website. You can also install custom widgets of your choice through the use of plugins!

Plugins – What Are They And How To Use Them?

Plugins are basically addons for your website and there are virtually thousands of them to pick from. Some are free and some you have to pay for, but none the less – they are a must-have.

Almost everything you need for your website, there’s a plugin for it. I once had a website that needed to have weather for my city displayed, so I simply found a plugin that does just that!

Took me about 2 minutes to install and set up. If I had been using a regular HTML website, I’d have to hire a good programmer to do that for me. Think about the money I saved!

To access your plugin area, click on the »Plugins« tab of your WP dashboard:

Here you can search for, upload and set up plugins. I won’t go into details right now, but you can read all about that + some cool plugins that I recommend in another tutorial here.

That’s it – we’ve pretty much covered all the important parts that need to be set up once you install WordPress. It’s pretty easy and takes about 5 minutes once you get used to it.

See you in the next tutorial!

Make Your Old Computer Run Faster Instantly

Make Your Old Computer Run Faster Instantly

It gets really irritating when you use a slow old computer in the age of Quad-Core processors. There are mainly two reasons why you would want to make your old computer run faster.

    ►That's your only computer!
►You don't want to throw away your old computer.

Whatever may be the reason, I will give you some ways to help your old computer breath some life.

1. Upgrade RAM

Upgrading other parts of the motherboard such as processor or graphics card are out of the question but you can always upgrade your computer's RAM. While it may be difficult to find the right version of RAM for your computer, you can always lookup on classified ads sites and online shopping websites. If lucky, you might get it there.

2. Clean Desktop

Remove all the icons in your desktop. After the cleaning, there should be only two icons - My Computer and Recycle Bin.

3. Clean OS Containing Drive

Remove files from your drive where your OS has been installed. Transfer the files to other drive until the free space is more than 40%.

4. Remove Crappy Softwares

Uninstall crappy softwares like toolbars and others which you don't use. It might seem impossible to get rid of all your beloved programs at first, but do it anyway!

5. Run Disk Defragmenter

When used for a long time, the files in your computer gets fragmented. In simpler words, it gets difficult for your computer to search for the required files and thus making your computer run slow.

Go to - Start > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter.

Analyze and then defragment!

6. Adjust For Best Performance

When using a old computer, its better to keep away from the fancy transitions and other stuff.

Right click on My Computer > Advanced System Settings > Under the Advanced Tab, check for Performance and click Settings > Adjust for Best Performance > Apply .

7. Run CCleaner

CCleaner is a great piece of software. You can use CCleaner to clean temporary files and fix your registries. Doing both of the task will definitely help improve the performance of your computer.

Story: It had been a long time since I had run CCleaner on my computer. So I decided to run it. You won't believe that I had 12 GB of temporary files on my computer!

8. Clean your CPU

Open your CPU's cabinet and grab a vacuum cleaner and start blowing on the motherboard. Dust the cobwebs and clean the cabinet completely.

9. Install a New OS

Most probably you are running Windows OS in your old computer. While its not bad but there are other OS which can run faster on your old computer and one such OS is Puppy Linux.

So here you have it, somes ways to make your old computer run faster. Do you know any other way to do the same? Do have have any questions or queries? Do all of that in the comments section below.

Don't forget to share this article with people with old computers!

Gigabyte are the latest entry to the tiny pc race, and with a chassis size that measures in at just 29.9mm x 107.6mm x 114.4mm, it’s clear that Gigabyte are trying to take on the world that was created with the launch of the Intel NUC, fortunately they’ve decided to back up it’s tiny size with some not so tiny performance.

The BRIX PC from Gigabyte will still be sold like the NUC, as a barebone DIY kit that can be picked up in a range of configurations, these include Core i3, i5 and even an i7 processors, an mSATA slot is used for storage to keep size down to a minimum and it uses to SO-DIMM memory slots that can handle up to 16GB of RAM.

Small and compact, i7 CPU, SSD and 16GB ram doesn’t sound like it’s going to lack much performance then! It’s also well equipped with connectivity options and you can expect HDMI, mini DisplayPort, WiFi, 2 x USB 3.0.

It’s already sounding more powerful than the NUC, of course I would expect the price tag to match the high specifications, but unfortunately Gigabyte haven’t revealed that information just yet. Of course if you need something super compact and as powerful as possible then it’s not really about the price, it’s about getting the job done and it looks like Gigabytes BRIX is going to deliver on the latter.
Google Buys Makani Power - Kite Powered Energy

Google Buys Makani Power - Kite Powered Energy

Google has purchased Makani Power, a company it had been investing in from its inception. The US based company will be the latest addition to Google’s ever-growing research and development department. The price which Google has paid for buying Makani has not been revealed but it is rumored that Google is going to provide the resources the company needs for developing its existing and new projects. This is not the first time that Google has bankrolled Makani’s projects.

However, this time the difference is that Google now owns the company. Previously, Google had invested at least $15 million in the company to enable it to carry out its initial experiments. Among the exciting projects that enter Google’s domain following this deal is the kite-powered generator designed by Makani. It has been in development for quite some time at the company and they are preparing to test it in the near future. Google’s acquisition is bound to have been influenced by this project.

The project involves using turbines to generate powers that are mounted on top of wings or tethered kites. In the test itself, the turbines are going to be placed atop robot kites and the company will check whether the experiment delivers the results they are looking for. Already, Makani has carried out tests of its product using a smaller prototype, which generated around 30 kW of power. Their aim is to have kite-powered generators produce at least 600 kW power.

According to Makani, they want to make sure that the turbines are able to propel the turbines without requiring a person to maneuver the system. They are going to develop larger models of their product once the initial testing is over. The company also stated that it wants to price their project competitively, around the same price as charged by offshore wind farms.
